           This year’s Liberty Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2008 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama.  Thousands of local residents and out-of-state visitors gather together in Cedar Bluff’s Town Park Square for this day long celebration.  The festivities include arts & crafts, rides, live entertainment, an antique car show, motorcycle show, poker run and sporting competitions.  This year, there  will be an honorary tribute to the Town of Cedar Bluff, it’s workers, police, fire and other departments, to show appreciation for how hard they have worked to build this celebration into the spectacular event that it is today. 

             The excitement will build throughout the day, with something happening at every turn, with a variety of food vendors and entertainment, line dancing, clogging, and lots of down home fun. Live enterainment will be performing on the main pavillion stage through out the day!  Rides and Games provided by Happenings Inflatables.

This year we will have a special stage constructed at the Weiss Mart Marina with bands featured through the day.  Enterainment scheduled to appear are, Midnight Run Band, Southern Nites, Buck & Duke, and Neck Down...  The evening will be capped off with our featured Band, Jonathan Alverson... The festivities will be highlighted at 9:30 P.M. with one of the largest fireworks displays in Alabama.  This spectacular display is made even more special by the hundreds of lighted boats and thousands of spectators parked along the lake’s edge to witness the event. 

 Southern Rodders Antique Car Show

             At every Liberty Day Celebration to date, the Southern Rodders Car Club has put on one of the biggest car, truck and motorcycle shows in this area.  This year’s event will include prizes and Thousands of dollars in cash.  Vehicle qualifications are antique/classic American and Foreign cars through 1978 and American Trucks through 1978 only.  Registration for the event will run from 8:00 A.M. through Noon the day of the show, and the cost to register is $25.00.  The first 250 drivers to register will receive a free T-Shirt.  For more information contact Delmus Brewster at (256)779-8348, or e-mail to oliver_nell@yahoo.com

 Weiss Lake Southern Cruisers Riding Club

            For their fifth year event, the Weiss Lake Southern Cruisers Riding Club will sponsor a Poker Run as well as a Motorcycle Show at the Cedar Bluff Liberty Day Celebration.  All of the club's proceeds from these events will go to The Childrens Advocacy Center of Cherokee County! Registration will be at the Southern Cruisers booth at Cedar Bluff Town Park, beginning at 8:00 'till 10:00 A.M.  Poker Run winners, Door prizes, 50/50 drawings and trophies will be awarded at 1:00 PM...  As always motorcycle parking will be provided in the field behind the Southern Cruisers tent.  Be sure to come by and enjoy the show and vote for your favorite bikes!  A limited number of event "T" shirts will be available so come early!  For more information contact Steve Wilson (256) 927-6635 or George Holloway (256) 927-6899 or e-mail Southern Cruisers at scrc@weislake.com

            This year BIG BOYZ TOYZ Production Company will be on site at the Car Show to film for their television show.  Let’s strut our stuff and show everyone that SOUTHERN RODDERS has the COOLEST cars around!!

          As an added feature this year, there will also be a Antique Tractor/Engine Show and Swap Meet, with participation by the Coosa Rusty Iron Association and the Weiss Lake Antique Power Association.  For information call Len Hogan (256) 927-3415.

             This year’s Liberty Day event promises to be more spectacular than ever, with more food, more fun, and more entertainment.  We hope that everyone will come and help us celebrate our Independence Day.  Once you do, we know that you will understand why we think that Cedar Bluff, Alabama is a wonderful place to live.
